Students Visit State Capitol - Agape House Heals

Eight Agape House School students and their chaperones visited Rep. Amy Loudenbeck and Sgt. at Arms Anne Tonnon Byers at the state capitol on March 13 to learn about their roles as females in the state government. Sgt. at Arms Tonnon Byers spoke to the girls about her responsibilities and what it’s like to be a female in her position. Rep. Loudenbeck shared her life’s journey to the position she now holds and spoke of her passion for helping girls and women. Rep. Loudenbeck also outlined some of the legislative efforts she is involved in that will address challenges facing girls and women in Wisconsin. Rep. Loudenbeck offered encouragement to the girls and spoke enthusiastically about Agape House and School, which she has visited in the past. The students received a private tour of the capitol building, exploring both the Senate and Assembly chambers and learned about the building’s history.
