Not all is β€œHappy” as we approach these next few weeks. For most people, the holiday season can offer a variety of hard moments and emotions. The students and families we love here at Agape House are being stretched as their healing begins to take root. At the moment, they are challenged with a new way of learning to live, love and be loved. Though the discomfort is unsettling at times, staying the same is no longer an option.
I imagine many can relate to this.
Eucharisteo: a verb. An action of gratitude. A choice to offer thanks.
Sometimes, choices are hard to make. A choice, at times, could be a sacrifice. To choose to give up our mind, will and emotions for the sake of offering something of greater worth is truly sacrificial. The families of Agape House have made some hard choices in hopes of a stronger, healthier future for their child and their families. With a mindset of gratefulness during this time of separation, they press forward towards God’s plan.
In the midst of hard seasons, surrendering your heart to an attitude of gratitude can be a mighty force to be reckoned with! I pray this season you choose an attitude of genuine gratitude. Not only for your own heart, but for the hearts that you influence along the way.
May we experience a greater appreciation for the blessings in our lives this Thanksgiving as we choose to offer up a sacrifice of praise to our great God!
Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
Hebrews 13:15
